Display Furniture for Artists
At my shows there is always more interest in my custom-built display furniture than I expect. When I held my first standalone art show, I knew I needed to come up with a way to display my work, since the facility didn’t provide any easels or display stands. I searched the normal art supply outlets, but was repeatedly disappointed in quality, appearance, price, or all three. With my skill set, the choice was obvious (at least to me), I would have to build my own.
After several inquiries from fellow artists, I’ve decided to make my easels and display racks available to purchase by order.
Display Easels
This simple design is a combination of a couple concepts from commercially available display easels. They fold flat for easy storage and transportation, they also nest for storage and transportation, they feature multiple peg holes for flexibility in the display, and I think they look very sharp. They adjust to different width artwork, and have rubber feet so that they don’t slide. They are not designed for super-heavy artwork, I would recommend a weight limit of 20 pounds. I finished mine in black lacquer; however they could be finished with any wood finish to match a décor.

Display Racks
These collapsible display racks are made from high-quality, hardwood plywood. The entire rack can be easily disassembled to lay flat for storage or transportation. There is a fabric sling for prints or frames, and handles for moving an assembled unit. Each piece is slotted to fit the adjoining pieces, and the only hardware is a knob on each leg of the display rack, which provides rigidity. Contents of the display rack can be oriented either landscape or portrait, and the height is optimized for an adult to comfortably flip through the work. This particular set was designed for prints and frames up to 18” x 24.” The set pictured is birch plywood, finished with a clear polyurethane finish. Again, they could be finished with any wood finish to match your décor. If you need a different size, contact me and we can discuss.
